Two Year Anniversary

Over 6 million globally now dead from the COVID virus strains.

It’s so hard to believe we’ve been enduring this craziness for two years. More than twice the population of Toronto, Canada has died and there’s still people believing that this a hoax.

As our amazing scientists and health professionals fight to save us, sadly many more will not make it.

At Odds With The World

Here we go again. Just as the world is opening up from the COVID-19 lockdown, I’m heading back into my own personal lockdown again. My cancer has grown back in my head.

Since 2018 I’ve had three tumours removed from my face, followed by multiple cancer treatments and a long recovery which kept me hidden away from life. Now it’s happening again.

More or less I feel like I’m stuck in a crazy Groundhog Day scenario I can’t seem to escape from. I’m happy for the people of the world and hope everyone gets to live a safe and happy life together. I just hope I can pass through another personal lockdown and be a part of it.

The End of the Third Wave

We’re one day away from the end of our lockdown. Hopefully, enough people will get vaccinated so that we can put an end this third wave of COVID-19.

Other countries like the US and the UK are opening up and getting ahead of the virus. The US has paid a very high price with over half a million people dead from the virus. However, their vaccine program is rolling out faster than hours.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel for us, with many people having received at least their first vaccine.

It would be nice for people to be able to gather and interact without fear of getting sick, or worse making someone else sick.

Take care everybody.

First Day of Spring

Where I live the clocks have moved ahead one hour and officially this morning Spring has arrived. Not a moment too soon.

I think as I get older I grow to dislike winter in Ontario.  A few years ago we decided to escape our Canadian winter for a week in February. I’d grown up hearing about spring breakers going to Florida, but that was never in the cards for me.

However, after our little getaway to the warmth of Florida I was sold. After our return home, the last remaining weeks of winter seemed to melt away more quickly than ever before.

Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, escaping the cold wasn’t in the cards at all. Finally, the snow is gone, and the daylight is getting longer. I can feel my desire to be outside growing.

Happy Spring everyone.

Line Up Here

Just part of the new normal?

If just four months ago someone had told me, very soon; people all over the world would be fighting over toilet paper and hand sanitizer, I would’ve asked, what’s that person smoking. Add to that, close to half a million people would die from an invisible deadly global virus, I would seriously consider that that person might be crazy.

However, we are indeed fighting for our lives and we have the numbers to prove it.
